RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

The Fundamentals of our faith should be taught to every child. Immaculate Parish Religious Education Program is held each Wednesday day evening from the beginning of September to the first of May from 6:15 to 7:30pm.

"When Children are baptized, parents accept the responsibility to bring up their children in the practice of the Catholic faith.....At the same time, the church promises to help parents foster their children's faith and assists them...as catechists of their children....."

Parish of the Immaculate provides a Religious Education Kindergarten through High School program. This program meets each Wednesday evening through the school year. This program has the fundamental task of forming disciples of Jesus Christ. Through the teachings of the basics of the Sacred Scriptures and Catholic teaching, through the community spirit that grows as a result of this program, and, through the powerful example of faithful witness to the Catholic faith the children and youth of the parish who are not attending the Owensboro Catholic Schools have a faith-fulfilling opportunity.

Parish of the Immaculate is blessed to have as catechists and support staff in 2011-2012 the following men and women: Laura Powers, Gina Gray, Pattie Martin, Lillian Chapman, Bobby Zimmerman, Juanita & Javier Garcia, Leslie Dukate, Eva Rock, Anne Webb, Erin Alvey, Susanne Story, DeeDee Keller, Harriet "Sissy" Weber, Angie Mattingly, Jennifer Danhauer, Deb Heine, Leanne Murphy, Ruby Estes and Charlotte Knott.
