Worship

The ministries of worship enhance the celebration of the Mass. Parishioners participate using their talents to beautify the church, lead in song and serve in liturgical involvement.

Art and Environment Committee -  Plans and designs the liturgical art and environment for the church especially during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter Seasons.  Meetings called prior to special seasons. The members also carry out the decorating plans and are needed especially for the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter Seasons. (about 2 times/yr). Decorating usually takes place on a Saturday morning.

Music Ministry - Open to anyone wishing to share their voice or musical talent for weekend liturgies.  Includes: adult choir, small vocal groups, cantors, instrumentalists, or piano/organ accompaniment.  No previous experience necessary.  Director of Music will place you in the position that will best utilize your talents.  Schedules are made for 6 months at a time. Jan.-June, July-Dec.

Children’s Choir – One weekend Mass each month all year. Open to singers in grades 2-6. Practice is the week before the scheduled Mass from 11a to 11:45a, then again 45 minutes prior to Mass. Schedules are made for 6 months at a time. Jan.-June, July-Dec.

Youth Music Program – One weekend Mass per month all year. Open to singers in grades 7-12 (including college). Instruments also welcome. Practice is one hour before Mass. Schedules are made for 6 months at a time. Jan.-June, July-Dec.

Funeral Choir - Open to anyone wishing to share their voice for funeral Masses.  No previous experience necessary.

Greeters -  Help to make parishioners and visitors feel welcome and at ease by greeting them at the doors and taking up the collection.

Altar Servers - Assisting at the Eucharistic celebration.  Open to boys and girls who are currently in the 3rd grade through high school. Training is required and provided for new servers several times throughout the year.

Lectors - The lector provides effective delivery of the Word of God.  Training will be required for new lectors.  One may begin this ministry starting in 8th grade after Confirmation.

Eucharistic Ministers - Distributes the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass.  Training will be required for new ministers. One may begin this ministry at 11th grade.

Gift Bearers - Families present the gifts at weekend liturgies.

Vocation Holy Family Statue - Each week a family takes home a Vocation Statue and prays for vocations during the week. Available at all 3 weekend Masses.

Worship/Spiritual Life Committee – This committee focuses on the liturgical life of the parish community and thus is concerned with the liturgical prayer and worship dimension of parish life. Committee meetings are four times yearly.
