RCIA

YOU ARE ALWAYS INVITED TO EXPLORE THE CATHOLIC WAY OF LIFE.

NOT BAPTIZED?  ALREADY BAPTIZED IN ANOTHER CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY?

EAGER TO KNOW THE PATH OF GOD’S LIFE FOR YOU?

Want to take the first step into a Catholic life of faith?

The RCIA process includes a time for prayer and reflection based around life experiences along with study of the Sacred Scriptures and basic Catholic teachings, practices, and prayers.  This journey of faith is made by gathering for faith conversations with a coordinator and parish members who serve as catechists.  A personal sponsor who agrees to accompany the seeker with the process will also be a part of this faith journey.

WHO?

Adults who seek Baptism in the Catholic Church are known as catechumens; adult Baptisms are celebrated at the Easter Vigil each year.  Adults who have experienced Baptism in another Christian Community (e.g., Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran…) are known as candidates; they may be received into Full Communion with the Catholic Church on Sundays throughout the year.

Both baptized and not-yet-baptized adults must share in an extended time of the RCIA process before celebrating sacraments in the Catholic Church.

WHEN?

Understanding that work, school, sports, and life schedules are vital parts of life, these RCIA gatherings/faith conversations are scheduled so to meet individual and family needs.  Schedule planning is negotiable.
